Comprising of over 1,600 islands and islets, Ha Long bay has both a unique biology and scenic quality that earned it UNESCO status in 1994. The name Ha Long translates as where the dragon descends to the sea and legend has it that the islands were created when a dragon from the mouton plunged in to the sea.
It has also been used as a location for the James Bond films…maybe that’s why the Labcold penguin was there?
