Labcold has supplied the MOD and the Army Medical Service with blood bank and pharmacy refrigerators for over 30 years, so when they were looking for sponsorship for their tour of Atlanta and Nashville we just had to say yes. The tour was originally planned for 2020 but because the AMS is aligned to the NHS, many of the team members were deployed to support the UK’s response to the Covid pandemic so it had to be delayed until now.
The Army Medical Service comprises of The Royal Army Medical Corps, Queen Alexander Royal Nursing Corps, Royal Army Veterinary Corps and The Royal Army Dental Corps. As well as working alongside the NHS and in the UK, officers and soldiers serving can be posted to support the British Army wherever it is deployed.
The tour allowed the team to play competitive fixtures against local sides and was funded entirely by those attending so Labcold were happy to be one of the companies to sponsor them, especially as sport is so important to The British Army. Lasting 10 days in total, we’re pleased to report that the AMS FC team drew with Nashville FC and won 2-0 against Portos FC Atlanta.
