Going the Extra Mile: Team Labcold Takes on the Yorkshire Marathon

On Sunday 18th October 2026, three of our service engineers, Ryan, Liam and Radek, swapped driving the length and breadth of the country for a very different kind of journey: taking on the Yorkshire Marathon in aid of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Alongside thousands of other runners, they took on all 26.2 miles through the streets of York, with their family, friends and the Labcold team cheering them on.

Running for a Cause Close to the Team

My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was founded in 2017 by Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir following his own diagnosis of motor neurone disease (MND). Every pound raised for the foundation makes a vital difference, funding breakthrough research, transforming patient care, and raising awareness towards a world free of MND.

It’s a cause that’s very close to us here at Labcold, and it’s why the team chose to put in the miles to support the Foundation’s incredible work.

The Big Day

Ryan crossed the line in 3:28, Radek in 3:52, and Liam in 5:04. Together, with the support of everyone who donated, they've already raised £1,737 for the Foundation.

Ryan, Labcold's Service Manager, said:

“It meant a lot to run for a cause that’s so close to our hearts at Labcold. The support we’ve had from our colleagues, family and friends made all the difference on the day. A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us. Every pound will go towards the Foundation’s incredible work.”

Proud of Team Labcold

We're incredibly proud of Ryan, Liam and Radek for taking on the challenge, and for the commitment they put into the training and fundraising along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and cheered them on. If you'd like to find out more about My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, please visit their website.
