Why Maintenance Matters

For customers relying on blood storage equipment or medical fridges, maintaining compliance and operational excellence is non-negotiable. Regular checks and servicing not only enhance performance but also ensure compliance with ever-changing, stringent regulations. As part of the integrated maintenance programme, our field engineers will repair on site, where possible, or arrange for fridges to be sent back to Labcold facilities for more in-depth analysis.

A Fully Inhouse Engineering Team

Our maintenance engineers, all employed inhouse, have an in-depth understanding of refrigeration products and the industry. As well as supporting with maintenance, Labcold engineers are involved in product installations, commissioning and have access to our expert Customer Support resources. Every engineer is FGas-certified and DBS checked for your peace of mind.

Typical Maintenance Checks

While every maintenance visit can be customised to the specific needs of the medical or pharmacy refrigeration equipment, here are some of the checks our engineers perform during an annual preventative maintenance inspection:

Full mechanical and electrical inspection.
Testing of the whole unit; including doors, gaskets, fans and wiring.
Test and record alarm system function and connection to remote alarms.
Inspect and calibrate chart recorders and replace battery.
Check temperature sensors and simulated load bottle.
Check compressor functionality.
Check and calibrate digital display for both air and load temperatures where applicable.
Provide advice on best practice and update training of operators if necessary.
Issue a comprehensive maintenance report.
Issue calibration certificate.
We can also provide you with UKAS compliant temperature mapping which can form part of IQ/OQ/PQ procedures. In addition, we have a trained service team who can answer your questions, free of charge by phone or email.
